Bellibone: “Believe
it or not a word meaning ‘a woman excelling in both beauty
and goodness’. One of a few words that the author has taken
the liberty of disinterring from the past because of their obvious
potentialities in polite discourse”
(rescued from the museum of disused words: Dr
Johnson’s Dictionary)
We have created the Bellibone label incorporating the famous
aeroplane girls used by bomber crews in World War II to distinguish
and individualise their planes. These images represent a world
of beautiful women – alluring and wholesome. They had a
significant effect on boosting morale and left a lasting visual
imprint on society itself.
The Bellibone wines reflect the natural beauty and underlying
goodness of their Margaret River origin, and our effort to develop
attractive and contemporary wines of distinction
Each wine that we created has an alluring Bellibone girl to distinguish
and individualise its own unique style. There are four wines in
the range, at this stage, with a plan to expand this in the near
future.
