vintage report 2004
This vintage started off very well with cool to warm temperatures allowing slower and even ripening to occur.
The Chardonnay responded well to this and for the first time since 2001 our yields have been very pleasing. The quality of the chardonnay is excellent and we were able to pick three different parcels this vintage allowing us to look at different fruit and
acid spectrums of the chardonnay. The wines are showing great fruit intensity and lively freshness which is very pleasing.
Pinot also looks very good and was picked prior to the mid March heat wave that resulted in the Cabernet and Merlot ripening very quickly towards the end.
This was the pattern throughout Margaret River. We were able to get the reds off quickly and believe the quality to be exceptional.
