Margaret River has proved itself to be well suited to the production of fine Merlot.
Our Merlot is grown on the vineyard block that has higher clay to gravel mixture, and is medium to full-bodied, with good colour, the palate juicy and succulent with mid-palate weight, and supple with richness and persistence.
The wine has a spectrum of aromas and flavours that cover raspberry, redcurrant, rhubarb, plum, lavender, fruitcake, chocolate and spice characters.
French oak provides a framework to the fruit, contributing cedary and spice notes.
Higher Plane Merlot has instant front palate appeal, plush Christmas cake flavours delineated by ripe fine tannins and subtle oak, crisp acid, balanced alcohol and long finish.
