vintage report 2008
This year saw an early start & a close to normal finish for vintage. The heat in summer brought on the ripening of the whites & reds, but this was tempered by a week of cooler weather that slowed most varieties down, allowing for a more moderate rate of ripening. This resulted in good flavour & acid retention in the whites while the reds had good ‘hang time’, allowing the tannins to ripen & flavours to deepen. Cabernet Sauvignon performed particularly well in this vintage.
