We're changing, yet not losing our soul.

Our approach has evolved away from a more ‘traditional’ style, to one that that is quite different – different at least from what we have done previously, and a bit more left-of-centre in terms of what is expected from Margs. But don't worry, we're still all about making drinks that are easy to enjoy and totally delicious, just with a fresh new twist.

As these changes have taken place, we’ve noticed that the people drinking our wines have become a bit younger. We realized our look needed to reflect the fresh and innovative varieties and styles that they’re looking for and which we’re making. It was time for a makeover.

The dawn of a new era.

IANTO WARD

VITICULTURIST

Ianto is passionate about organics, and his work was recognised in Margaret River in 2019 when he was awarded the Viticultural Excellence Award at the Margaret River Wine Show. Ianto provides the raw materials for us to make eco-friendly wine.

He is supported by Dan Stocker and Clint Pruin at the Higher Plane vineyard.

LUC FITZGERALD

WINEMAKER

Since 2018, Luc has helped foster a new style of winemaking which hinges on innovative styles and varieties not usually associated with the region.

Luc’s take on Higher Plane: ‘I thrive on guiding the continued evolution of the brand.  The foundation of our wine is the high-quality fruit, expertly and sustainably farmed by experienced and passionate professionals.’

TOM HILL

FAMILY

Higher Plane is family owned and operated by the Hill family, and Tom Hill has recently stepped into the role of CEO in addition to Operations Manager.

Tom's background is in winemaking and he is passionate about the new era of Higher Plane. He was the driver behind the new style, with support (and design input) from his siblings Nick, Susie and Katie, and mum Gillian.

FIKI

WINE DOG

Fiki comes to work most days with Luc, although she sometimes gets sent home at lunch time for naughty behaviour. Frequently asked what breed she is; Luc entertains himself by making up fake breeds in reply.

Fiki is a big ball of fluff who loves a treat, chasing a bung and getting back scratches, and is frequently found hanging with best friend Pepper.
